Whitegate Observatory

Located in Whitegate, East Cork, Ireland, on the shores of Cork Harbour, Whitegate Observatory is a private amateur observatory dedicated to astronomy, radio science, and marine observation. The site benefits from relatively dark skies for an Irish coastal location, with the expanse of Cork Harbour providing excellent horizons for both optical and radio work.

The observatory runs automated forecasts and data collection around the clock, combining weather modelling, tide data, and astronomical calculations to plan observing sessions and marine activities.
